International Dog Day or National Dog Day (more commonly used term) is celebrated on 26th of every year. August celebrated. We are all dog lovers and really want to give our furry friends the best we can.
National Dog Day on August 26th encourages dog ownership of all breeds. When looking for a new companion, be sure to consider mutts, mixed breeds, purebreds, and everything in between. Whether mixed or purebred, seize the opportunity for all dogs to live happy, safe, and abuse-free lives. They all accompany us.
In 2004, the tag was founded by Collen Paige, an animal rights activist and pet lifestyle expert. He is also a conservationist, dog trainer and author. August 26th was chosen for International Dog Day because it was the first time Paige’s family adopted Sheltie; he was 10 years old.
WHY 26 AUGUST? The date of August 26 is significant because it is the date Colleen’s family adopted their first dog, Sheltie, from the local shelter when Colleen was 10 years old. National Dog Day celebrates all dogs, mixed breeds and purebreds.
Man’s best friend is celebrated on National Puppy Day on March 23rd. All the cutest and most adorable puppies will be put in the spotlight on the day and given the royal treatment!

August is now officially National Dog Month!
National Dog Month is now held in August every year from now until the end of dog season.
On this day in 1920, the United States Congress passed the 19th Amendment to the Constitution, which gives women full and equal suffrage. Every year on August 26th we commemorate this right with National Women’s Equality Day.
