Ten years later, Xiomara is a grown woman but still a carefree teenager at heart. Their daughter Jane is now a young girl whom Xo raised with the help of her mother.
When Jane was pondering what to do, her very Catholic grandmother, Alba, told her that when she became pregnant at 16, she asked Jane’s mother, Xiomara, for an abortion. Alba said she “thank God” for Xo kept the baby.
In the spring of 2013, Xiomara happened to see Rogelio in The Passions of Santos and decided to write to him and tell him that he has a daughter. In the fall of 2014, Rogelio shows up at the bar where Xiomara is performing to ask her to be a part of his daughter’s life.
It was subsequently revealed that Xo (Andrea Navedo) decided not to carry her baby to Esteban and had an abortion.
In the time span between the season premiere and the second episode, Xiomara has an off-screen abortion. Instead of focusing on the decision itself, the episode focuses on how her family reacts – and ultimately overcomes their differing perspectives. According to Snyder-Urman, this was very intentional.
Petra meets and becomes engaged to Lachlan Moore who worked for The Maracay Group owned by Emilio Solano and during a business dinner she met Emilio’s son and Lachlan’s rival Rafael Solano. Petra left Lachlan for Rafael as he had more money and the two got engaged after five months together.
After beating cancer, Xiomara decided to become a nurse so she could help others. She successfully attended nursing school and finally found a job that makes her happy< . During the series finale, Xo struggles with moving to NYC with Rogelio and saying goodbye to her family.
After Rogelio’s heart condition, how can this not be factored into “Chapter 95”? While his AFib shouldn’t have resulted in his death, that moment may have prepared viewers that Rogelio could be one of the characters to die before the show is over.
She later divorces Rafael and in season 2 gives birth to their twin daughters Anna and Elsa (later Ellie). Mateo is Jane and Rafael’s baby.
They get back together after JR decides to forgive her and Petra promises never to lie to her again. Though she’s moved on and reconnected, JR ends their relationship after receiving a job offer in Houston and deciding she needs a fresh start.
Confused with Cheating: Rogelio thinks Xiomara is cheating on him. It turned out that the man she was dating was her dance partner and also gay.
It turns out that Rafael (Justin Baldoni), Jane’s (accidental) baby daddy, is not a Solano. On Monday night’s episode, we found out that Rafael was indeed adopted. We even took a look at Rafael’s birth certificate, which says he was born in Italy.
Early life. Bethany was conceived shortly after Jane Doe was arrested and taken to an undisclosed location by the CIA. Her mother, Allison Knight, kept her pregnancy a secret before breaking the news to Kurt Weller, who took some time to think about it before agreeing to be a part of the child’s life.
Due to Jane’s suspicions in the previous episode, Rafael hangs around in Petra’s room long enough to prevent Anezka from administering the paralytic, and Petra eventually emerges from her three months in Hell.
Viewers last saw her move to Houston for a new job, leaving Petra behind in Chapter 91. The drama for the character didn’t stop there, however, as there was another final big revelation that Petra’s mother, Magda (Priscilla Barnes), was sent to Siberia.
They start to feel tense as Xo was unhappy with the way things ended and ultimately he never made it to leave his wife for Xo. They had genuine feelings for each other despite the circumstances, and when they reunite 2 years later, Bruce is divorced.
