Francis finally finds her in her bed after the christening and it is obvious that she has lost the baby. One comment about how she wondered if it would have its curls and I was gone.
At the end of the episode, Francis meets Mary in the nursery, she then tells him to name the baby to make it safer than it otherwise would have been. King and Queen of France. Mary and Francis are crowned Queen and King of France at the coronation.
Lola had given birth to her and Francis’ son. While The Black Plague had taken over, Francis went in search of Lola shortly after Queen Mary received a letter from Lola saying she was going to give birth in a house and King Francis said , he should go. That was before she knew about the Black Death.
Some time after they left, Lola went into labor and gave birth to a baby boy. Planning to leave the French court permanently, she soon found herself stuck at the French court after Francis refused to let her take the baby when he first held him.
Olivia’s return to the French court was orchestrated by Queen Catherine. Francis has slept with (at least) four wives, taking the virtues of Olivia D’Amencourt, Natalia Tianná and Mary Stuart and having a child with the fourth, Lady Lola.
In Dirty Laundry, it is revealed that Lola is pregnant with Francis’ child. When Mary and Kenna visit Lola in her quarters, they find that she has already left and Mary finds out. Mary rushes to stop Lola from having an abortion that could have killed her to find out it’s Francis’ child.
He was officially claimed by his father in The Lamb and the Slaughter and given the title of 1st Baron of Velay. He returns to the French court in Leaps of Faith, where he was with Lola when she was Elizabeth’s prisoner.
Lola was beheaded in Spiders in a Jar after she conspired to murder Elizabeth on Mary’s orders. The assassination was revealed to be the work of John Knox at the end of the episode. Lady Lola was a member of House Narcisse by marriage.
Mary forgives Lola and tells her to stop feeling guilty. The two reconcile and Lola asks Mary to be her son Jean-Philippe’s godmother, which Mary accepts.
She sees the pagan sign when Mary gives the baby to Agnes to take to a convent. When Catherine’s men arrive at Agnes’ house, they take the baby and bring it to Catherine. Catching a glimpse of the baby’s foot, which has already healed, Catherine orders that the child be sent to a convent.
Francis confronted Mary about the reason for her departure and she told him about Nostradamus’ prophecy. He thought it was superstition. She eventually ruined her relationship with Francis when she got Henry to change the line of succession. she would marry Bash instead. Francis, heartbroken and betrayed by Mary, leaves the French court.
Lady Lola Fleming Narcisse was one of the ladies-in-waiting and a close friend of Queen Mary. She was briefly married to Lord Julien, who is publicly presumed dead, and has since given birth to King Francis’ only child. In Spiders in a Jar, Queen Elizabeth had her beheaded.
Her romance with him is quite short as he betrays the royal family and almost kills Bash. It is later revealed that she is having Bash’s baby and it restores her marriage to Bash.
Olivia gets lost in the tunnels and Clarissa burns out her candle. Olivia returns in Dirty Laundry. Bash finds her in the forest and takes her to Nostradamus to treat her wounds.
The marriage produced no children and may never have been consummated, possibly due to Francis’ illnesses or undescended testicles.
After a tough day in court and a tough time with Queen Mary, Francis looked at her Olivia in her own chambers. Things quickly got passionate, and the two ended up having sex again.
